Top 10 Assassin’s Creed Mirage Tips and Tricks

The centuries-old feud between the Assassins and the Templars is back, and this time it’s going back to the roots! In our Assassin’s Creed Mirage tips and tricks, we’ll show you how the new installment differs from its predecessors, how to master the item, combat and skill system, and how to turn Baghdad into your personal playground.

1) Watch your notoriety

Like the early games in the series – most notably the still-brilliant Ezio trilogy – Assassin’s Creed Mirage is once again a true stealth game. Your reputation plays a bigger role than in Valhalla or Odyssey. Although you have powerful assassination combos at your disposal, you won’t stand a chance in open combat against larger groups of enemies.

So go underground to reduce your detectability. Hide in the bushes or blend in with passersby on the street. Once you’re surrounded by four or more civilians, the guards won’t recognize you and you can walk right past them. However, if they’ve spotted you and are chasing you, escaping over the rooftops will help you. Thanks to the intelligent parkour system, you can move over parapets, ledges, and walls at lightning speed.

Tear down wanted posters with your picture on them and bribe the Munadis. Use eagle vision to stay one step ahead of your pursuers and plan your routes and movements in advance.

2) Look for chests

Baghdad is full of chests containing valuable equipment and plans to upgrade your items. Search every side street and corner in Assassin’s Creed Mirage to find them all, and use your trusty eagle to locate even the most hidden of them.

You’ll get clues from the eagle’s perspective, and you’ll also see symbols on the map to indicate potential hiding places.

3) Sneaking/stealth tips

Sneaking is one of the most important mechanics in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Since Origins, it was an optional element, but now Ubisoft wants to return to its roots to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the series. So you won’t get far without hiding.

Explore restricted areas with your eagle eye before entering, and consider which enemies you can avoid to reach your goal. In some places, you’ll need to use hay bales and bushes and duck into them. Watch the movement patterns of your enemies and take advantage of opportune moments to dash out of sight to the next hiding place.

When you blend into your surroundings in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and become invisible to the guards, Basim will be outlined in white. If a single one comes near you, you can use an assassination attack to take him out immediately. Unlike the previous three games, you don’t have to pay attention to a level anymore. The role-playing elements are finally old news. No matter how strong your enemy is: If you ambush him, it’s always an insta-kill.

But make sure no one is watching you while you assassinate. If they are, you’ll need to take out any witnesses before they run to a bell and sound the alarm for the entire area. Whenever you’re spotted, only the guards in your immediate vicinity will be aware of you at first.

4) Use fast travel

The game world of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is large. Use the fast travel feature to get closer to your mission. Ubisoft stays true to itself when it comes to unlocking waypoints. Just like in the Far Cry series and all other Assassin’s Creed games, you have to climb observation towers. Once you reach the top, a brief camera movement signals that you’ve discovered the surroundings.

You don’t have to climb down though. At each of the buildings, you have the opportunity to take one of the legendary Leap of Faith. You’ll plunge headfirst into the depths and land softly in a bale of hay.

5) Try out different skills

Let’s get to the heart of our Assassin’s Creed Mirage tips and tricks. The skills. Each skill tree focuses on a different play style. Try different ones to see which one suits you best and is the most fun. We’ll go through them below.

Phantom

There are seven skills to unlock in the Phantom category. These improve everything that has to do with silent killing. This includes the extremely powerful Chain Assassination and increasing your Focus. This allows you to take down a group of enemies by combining assassination and knife throwing in one combo without blowing your cover.

Trickster

As a Trickster, you can use and manage your items and tools more efficiently in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. For example, knives can be reused after an attack, and the Engineer perk allows for more tool upgrades. This category also includes upgrades to your pickpocketing skills and automatic item gathering.

Predator

In the Predator skill tree, you can get a vision enhancement for your eagle eye. This will make exploration much easier. Even better is the Stealth Recon. Once you’ve unlocked this feature, enemies and guards will automatically be shown to you and marked on the map for later.

How to get skill points

Each skill in Assassin’s Creed Mirage costs a certain amount of skill points. There are several ways to earn skill points. You can get them by completing main and side quests. You can also earn them by finding lost books and other collectibles. You get exactly one skill point per book.

6) This is the best way to use tokens

Let’s stay with the lost books for a moment. To find them, we recommend that you invest your collected Scholar Tokens with the Mapmaker. He will give you the locations of the books as well as the other artifacts, except for the mysterious shards. Alternatively, you can use the Scholar Tokens to distract guards.

The Power Favor Tokens will bribe the Munadis to lower your reputation, and the Merchant Tokens will give you a 30% discount on purchases or open special chests. You’ll earn tokens by stealing and completing the game’s missions. Don’t spend them all, though, and keep some in reserve in case you need them for the main quest.

In general stores, you can spend your money on dyes to customize your outfit. In addition to shopping, there’s also a tab where you can sell things you’ve found in chests or stolen.

7) Upgrade your tools

Basim becomes extremely powerful in Assassin’s Creed Mirage through the use of his tools. It’s best to upgrade them early on in the Brotherhood House. They will help you solve puzzles, eliminate enemies, and make your experience more interesting. Focus on the Trickster skill tree and increase the range of your knives, for example.

8) Assassin’s Creed Mirage tips: Use a blowdart

Blowdarts are an interesting gimmick in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. They don’t have the same range as a knife, but they give you a special advantage. If you hit an enemy with one, he’ll go to dreamland for about ten seconds. That’s long enough for you to sneak past.

Assassin's Creed Mirage tips: Use a blowdart

And in case you’re wondering what exactly makes the arrow better than the knife: if a guard spots a sleeping colleague, he won’t sound the alarm and come looking for you, he’ll just wake him up. Dead soldiers will sound the alarm. However, by using sleeping arrows, your camouflage will remain intact and no one will suspect anything. So you don’t have to worry about disposing of corpses.

Blowdarts also allow you to rob NPCs without killing them. Just put them into a short slumber, empty their pockets, and make a quick exit. The perfect crime.

9) Learn how to pickpocket

Pickpocketing is an important way to get money in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Want to buy new cosmetic items for your armor? No problem! Get enough Darahim by moving other people’s valuables from their pockets to yours. To improve your chances, the Trickster skill tree includes the Pickpocket Master perk.

But even without this skill, your heists will be successful. Sneak up on your target and press E at the right moment. Preferably steal from civilians, as they are the most careless. If you want to try your luck on a guard, make sure he isn’t on guard. During the action, a blue square will light up with a white border around it. When the border covers the square, press E again.

Over time, you’ll get a feel for timing. If the theft is successful, you want to quickly move away from the person and disappear from their view.

10) Smoke Bombs are OP

Just like the counters in the old AC games, smoke bombs are absolutely overpowered during combat in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Throwing them on the ground will blind your nearby enemies and allow you to perform hidden blade assassinations on them. These are instant kills. In a matter of seconds, you can completely wipe out a small group of enemies without the guards in the adjacent areas noticing.

The bombs are also great for escaping. If you find yourself in a seemingly hopeless situation, simply throw one in front of you and run. Your enemies won’t see where you’re going, and by the time the smoke clears, you’ll be over the rooftops.
