Monoco is a versatile support and damage dealer in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Thanks to his Bestial Wheel transformations, he can adapt to various combat needs, providing AP to allies, breaking enemy defenses, or unleashing powerful parry-based attacks. With weapons that scale on Agility and Defense, Monoco excels in both speed and survivability, making him a reliable choice for late-game teams.

Monoco Build: A humanoid creature with gray fur holding a staff and a bell. It has a decorated chest plate with red symbols and wears multiple bracelets.

Monoco’s Bestial Wheel Explained

One of Monoco’s unique mechanics is the Bestial Wheel, which determines which Mask he is currently fighting under. There are five Masks in total:

  • Balanced (Red)
  • Caster (Blue)
  • Heavy (Green)
  • Agile (Purple)
  • Almighty (Yellow)

Each of Monoco’s skills rotates the wheel a specific number of positions when used. With careful planning, you can choose which Mask Monoco will switch to next, allowing you to align abilities with their ideal Mask bonuses.

Every Mask enhances different types of skills, either by increasing damage, reducing AP costs, or adding extra effects. The most powerful of these is the Almighty Mask, which acts like a wild card. It always triggers a skill’s bonus, regardless of the type.

The key to mastering Monoco is finding a smooth rotation that keeps him hitting those Mask bonuses consistently, while still allowing room to adapt to different scenarios. Ideally, you want to reach Almighty as often as possible for the best results.
