The Complete Resident Evil Requiem Weapons Guide

  • from PLITCH
  • 11.03.2026

If you want to survive the horrors of Resident Evil Requiem, choosing the right weapon is essential. In this Resident Evil Requiem Weapons Guide, you’ll discover where to find every weapon, how to unlock them, and when to use them. From pistols to rocket launchers, we show you how to stay alive.

Grace’s Handguns

In Resident Evil Requiem, handguns aren’t meant to deal heavy damage to enemies. Instead, they serve as control tools that help you interrupt enemy attacks, buy time, and set up stronger follow-up moves. A quick shot to the legs can stagger a zombie, while a headshot often opens the door for melee attacks or a quick escape.

Grace and Leon both rely on handguns early on in Resident Evil Requiem, but their arsenals develop very differently as the story goes on. Grace only gains access to two pistols throughout the game, and neither can be upgraded. Because of this, making the right choice early on can significantly improve chances of survival.

B934

This is usually the first handgun you come across in Resident Evil Requiem when playing as Grace.

Resident Evil Requiem Weapons: B934. Close-up of a semi-automatic handgun with brown grip and text detailing specifications and history of the model.

Location

  • Care Center Dining Room in the West Wing
  • Found on the floor during exploration

What makes it useful

  • Reliable early game sidearm
  • Balanced damage and handling
  • Good for stunning enemies with quick shots

S&S M232

This is Grace’s top handgun in Resident Evil Requiem and a clear upgrade from the B934.

Semi-automatic pistol with black grip and gray slide lying on dark surface next to text with model and specifications.

Location

  • Bar & Lounge, 2nd Floor West Wing Care Center
  • Found behind the bar counter

Why it’s better

  • Slightly higher damage
  • Larger magazine capacity
  • More reliable in panic situations

The only downside is that you have to detour to pick it up, which causes some players to skip it during speedruns. For a regular playthrough, though, it’s definitely worth grabbing.

Leon’s Handguns

Alligator Snapper

Leon begins Resident Evil Requiem with this reliable weapon.

Semi-automatic handgun with tactical light attachment and textual description of model and features.

Characteristics

  • Balanced handgun with solid stability
  • Can be equipped with a Compensator for better recoil control
  • Perfect general-purpose sidearm

If you prefer reliability over experimentation, this pistol will easily carry you through most of the game.

Silencer 9

How to unlock

  • Buy it from Supply Boxes

Advantages

  • Built-in suppressor
  • Ideal for stealth sections inside the ARK
  • Can become very strong once fully upgraded

Matilda IMP

A classic weapon that long-time Resident Evil fans will recognize.

How to unlock

  • Available in the shop for AP

Special features

  • Three-round burst fire
  • Very stable handling
  • Efficient use of handgun ammo

The burst fire is effective for quickly staggering enemies in Resident Evil Requiem, though many players prefer it more for style than pure efficiency.

Revolvers/Heavy Handguns

If normal pistols are your control tools, revolvers in Resident Evil Requiem are your panic buttons. These weapons are built to eliminate major threats with a single shot. Ammo is extremely limited, so every bullet must count.

Most enemies in Resident Evil Requiem won’t survive more than one hit from these weapons during your first playthrough. Even stronger monsters usually take massive damage or get instantly neutralized. Save ammo for elite enemies or bosses, andaim for the head to trigger instant kills. Use them to escape dangerous situations, andkeep one round ready in case an enemy breaks through your defenses.

Requiem

The Requiem is Leon’s heavy sidearm in Resident Evil Requiem and one of the most powerful weapons you’ll carry during the campaign.

Close-up of a revolver with an open cylinder lying on dark fabric next to bullets and a magazine

How to get it

  • Automatically acquired by Leon (begins in his inventory)

What makes it powerful

  • Massive damage
  • Often decapitates zombies instantly
  • Prevents enemies from returning as Blister Heads

This revolver is best reserved for dangerous encounters or emergencies. Regular zombies might sometimes survive a shot, but most will lose their heads right away.

Grace can also use the Requiem to stun the mysterious Girl, giving you a brief window to escape if things get out of control.

Redemption

Black-and-white close-up of a single-shot pistol with technical specifications and description text to the right

How to unlock

  • Available for AP after completing the game once.

Unique characteristics

  • Uses rifle ammunition
  • Can’t be upgraded
  • Extremely high single-shot damage

Since it can hold only one bullet at a time, every shot needs to count. The weapon becomes even more intriguing when paired with specific charms.

Pro tip: Equip the Power Shades Charm. Since the Redemption only has one round, the charm’s bonus effect stays active the whole time. This makes the weapon one of the most powerful attacks in the entire game.

Ghost Grudge

Large revolver with a demonic symbol engraved on the grip and five cartridges in the cylinder next to a list of specifications.

How to unlock

  • Purchase with AP after your first playthrough

Key features

  • Comparable damage to the Requiem
  • Can’t be upgraded
  • Very reliable boss damage weapon

Although it begins roughly as powerful as the Requiem, Leon’s revolver can eventually outperform it once fully upgraded.

Shotguns

When things get chaotic in Resident Evil Requiem, shotguns are Leon’s go-to weapon. These guns excel at close-range crowd control, making them ideal for clearing narrow hallways, breaking up enemy groups, or stopping a charging monster in its tracks. A clean headshot at point-blank range can instantly kill most zombies, making shotguns one of the most reliable ways to save health when enemies get too close.

Only Leon has access to shotguns in Resident Evil Requiem, and each one provides slightly different advantages depending on your playstyle.

MSBG 500

The MSBG 500 is usually the first shotgun Leon finds during the story.

Black-and-white graphic of a compact pump-action shotgun with grip and barrel rail, alongside technical specifications for rate of fire, reload speed, precision, and ammo capacity.

Location

  • Attic of the Care Center
  • Found near the Chunk boss encounter

Why you should grab it

  • Solid early game shotgun
  • Reliable close-range stopping power
  • Great for staggering large enemies

It might not have the best stats over time, but it’s incredibly helpful when the game begins to send tougher enemies your way.

990-TAC

The 990-TAC is the strongest shotgun available in Resident Evil Requiem if you’re willing to invest resources.

Semi-automatic shotgun with extended carbon tube, ceramic-coated barrel, and black stock shown in a user interface with technical specifications.

How to get it

  • Purchase from Supply Boxes in Raccoon City

Advantages

  • Best overall shotgun stats
  • Excellent damage output
  • Very strong upgrade potential

If you fully upgrade this weapon, it easily becomes Leon’s most effective shotgun, capable of wiping out groups of enemies with just a few blasts.

W870 Police

Fans of the series will instantly recognize this shotgun. It originally belonged to Kendo and was featured in Resident Evil 2.

Black-and-white close-up of a pump-action police shotgun with folding stock and silver barrel extension

Location

  • Kendo’s Gun Shop in Raccoon City
  • On a shelf behind the counter in the back room

Why it’s worth picking up

  • Completely free weapon
  • Strong stats that are very close to the 990-TAC
  • Easy to obtain during exploration

Submachine Guns

Submachine guns in Resident Evil Requiem focus on speed and pressure. Instead of depending on a single powerful shot, these weapons flood enemies with a continuous burst of bullets. They are great for hitting weak spots and chopping off limbs, which can quickly take down even aggressive zombies.

The downside is clear. SMGs use up ammunition rapidly. If you’re not careful, you could run out before the next encounter even starts.

Gal

Submachine gun with short barrel and folding stock, accompanied by text with technical specifications and description.

Location

  • Underground Parking Garage
  • Northwest corner of the area in Raccoon City

Why it’s useful

  • High rate of fire
  • Large magazine size
  • Great for tearing through enemy limbs

Machine gun ammo is fairly common in Resident Evil Requiem, so the Gal can be used more freely than other weapons. Its main weakness is low stability, making sustained fire hard to control.

Stiri REVO3 A1

How to get it

  • Purchase from Supply Boxes in East Raccoon City

Strengths

  • More accurate than the Gal
  • Can be upgraded to perform well at multiple ranges
  • Reliable for sustained combat encounters

Although its magazine is slightly smaller, upgrades can transform this weapon into a highly versatile firearm suitable for both close combat and medium-range engagements.

Freya’s Needle

This is the only submachine gun Grace can unlock in Resident Evil Requiem.

Black semi-automatic pistol with drum magazine and short barrel

How to unlock

  • Available for AP after finishing the game once

Special characteristics

  • Uses handgun ammunition
  • Extremely high fire rate
  • Designed for rapid damage output

Compared to Grace’s pistols, each bullet feels weaker. However, the weapon makes up for it by spamming enemies with rounds, which can drop zombies quite fast if you have enough ammo.

Clatter Carbine

Although classified with SMGs, the Clatter Carbine functions more like a compact assault rifle.

Semi-automatic rifle with large suppressor, scope, and tactical flashlight mounted on a tripod

How to unlock

  • Available for AP after the first playthrough

Key advantages

  • Better stats than most SMGs
  • Built-in suppressor
  • Very effective at mid-range combat

Its only real drawback is a smaller ammo capacity, which means you’ll need to reload more often during long fights.

Sniper Rifles

Sniper rifles in Resident Evil Requiem are designed for accuracy and high stopping power. These weapons cause significant damage per shot and are ideal for taking out dangerous enemies before they can get close. Leon is the only character who can use sniper rifles.

Classic 70

The Classic 70 is the first sniper rifle Leon gets in Resident Evil Requiem.

How to get it

  • Automatically obtained during a character switch in the Care Center

Why it stands out

  • Excellent long-range accuracy
  • Very high damage per shot
  • The only rifle that supports the Silver Finish Scope

Once you attach the Silver Finish Scope, the Classic 70 becomes the top long-range weapon in the game. It’s perfect for taking out enemies before they even get a chance to react.

Marksman 1A

The Marksman 1A is a more flexible alternative to the Classic 70.

Where to find it

  • Inside a hidden BSAA container near the gas station in East Raccoon City
  • Can also be purchased from Supply Lockers

What makes it different

  • Semi-automatic firing
  • Larger magazine capacity
  • Comes with a lower magnification scope

Instead of concentrating solely on long-range sniping, the Marksman 1A is built for quick follow-up shots. This makes it surprisingly effective in chaotic fights where enemies keep moving.

Grenades and Throwables

Throwables in Resident Evil Requiem are your quick fix for overwhelming situations. Whether you’re surrounded by enemies or facing a particularly dangerous creature, these weapons can clear space instantly or deal massive area damage.

Leon and Grace each have access to different types of throwables, and they serve very different purposes depending on who you’re playing.

Hand Grenade

Leon’s main throwable in Resident Evil Requiem is the classic Hand Grenade, which causes powerful explosive damage.

Where to find it

  • Dropped by the Chunk boss
  • Found throughout the game world
  • One early example appears in the Attic in Rhodes Hill

Why it’s effective

  • Deals heavy area damage
  • Can hit multiple enemies at once
  • Perfect for clearing crowded rooms

Stacked Hand Grenade

If you attach multiple grenades together, you create a Stacked Hand Grenade, which dramatically increases the blast strength.

Advantages

  • Larger explosion radius
  • Much higher damage
  • Ideal for boss encounters or large enemy groups

Molotov Cocktail

Grace gains access to Molotov cocktails by crafting after she finds the required blueprint.

Black dialog box with white text 'You can now craft: - Molotov Cocktail' over a blood-stained round table with a dark object on it.

How to craft

  1. Find the blueprint in the Basement Bunkroom
  2. Combine Infected Blood with an Empty Bottle

Why it’s useful

  • Creates a burning area of effect
  • Damages multiple enemies at once
  • Can even stun the mysterious Girl
  • Great for temporarily blocking an area

Bottle of Acid

Another throwable available to Grace is the Bottle of Acid.

Where to find it

  • Crafting materials found throughout the game
  • Blueprint is located in the Biochemical Repository in the ARK
  • One early bottle appears in the Sterilization Chamber

What it does

  • Moderate damage against zombies
  • Extremely effective against Lickers

Melee and Other Weapons

Firearms may be your primary tools in Resident Evil Requiem, but melee weapons still play a crucial role in survival. They help you take down enemies, defend yourself during grabs, and save ammunition when supplies are scarce.

Hatchet

The Hatchet is Leon’s starting melee weapon and stays useful throughout the campaign.

Close-up of a tactical hatchet with a perforated handle and serrated blade against a blurred background

Why it matters

  • Reliable close-range melee option
  • Useful for parrying enemy attacks
  • Can be upgraded at Supply Lockers

The hatchet becomes more crucial on higher difficulties, where timing your parries correctly can decide if you survive an encounter.

Mortal Edge

Black axe with curved handle and pointed blade against red background with shadow of a standing person

How to unlock

  • Dropped by the ARK final boss, the Commander

Advantages

  • Higher base durability than the Hatchet
  • Excellent for defensive parrying
  • Strong melee damage

Initially, the Mortal Edge is more durable than Leon’s hatchet. However, after fully upgrading the Hatchet, it eventually outperforms the axe overall.

Makeshift Knife

Grace relies on knives rather than heavy melee weapons.

Where to find it

  • West Wing of Rhodes Hill
  • Can also be crafted during the game

What it’s used for

  • Defensive tool during zombie grabs
  • Prevents follow-up attacks
  • Must be recovered from the enemy after use

Kotetsu

The Kotetsu is a unique unlockable knife with an unbreakable blade.

How to unlock

  • Available for AP after finishing the game once

Like the classic infinite combat knife from earlier Resident Evil games, the Kotetsu never breaks. However, if it gets stuck in an enemy, you still need to retrieve it before losing access.

Hemolytic Injector

Grace also gains access to a special utility weapon.

How to craft

  1. Collect Blood Samples
  2. Combine them with crafting materials

What it does

  • Special biochemical tool
  • Used during certain combat and exploration scenarios

It plays a distinctive role in the game’s systems and connects to Grace’s interactions with infected enemies.

R.I.P. Knife

The R.I.P. Knife is one of Grace’s most interesting weapons.

How to unlock

  • Spend 5 Antique Coins at the machine in the Care Center Parlor

Crafting recipe

  • Scrap x1
  • Infected Blood x110

Why it’s useful

  • Coated with a special chemical compound
  • Causes enemies to drop more Infected Blood

This makes it very useful for farming crafting materials during longer runs.

RPG-7

How to unlock

  • Available for AP after your first playthrough

What makes it special

  • Massive explosive damage
  • Perfect for boss fights
  • One of the most powerful weapons in the game

Just remember that rockets are limited, so they’re best reserved for major threats.
