Money drives your settlement forward in Manor Lords. Whether you’re expanding your town, increasing trade, or building a stronger army, a consistent flow of wealth keeps everything running smoothly. This Manor Lords Money guide shows you how to grow your Regional Wealth, fill your Treasury, and transform your village into a thriving power.

Basics

Money in Manor Lords works a bit differently than you might expect. Your settlement doesn’t rely on a single shared wallet. Instead, Regional Wealth represents the money flowing through your town. It is the combined cash of your people and the lifeblood of your economy.

You use Regional Wealth to trade, expand Burgage Plots, and build workshops. These upgrades then generate even more wealth because the crafted goods they produce can be sold at the market. This cycle is your main driver for growth.

As your economy expands, you unlock new opportunities. Level 2 Burgage Plots can become artisan homes like blacksmiths or joiners. These residents craft weapons and shields for your militia and earn extra money by selling their work. Just keep an eye on fuel, since many crafted items require it.

Three Fast Ways to Make Money

  • Raid Bandit Camps: Clear nearby camps to recover stolen loot and convert it into Regional Wealth or Treasury funds. It provides quick cash and removes threats around your borders.
  • Use Taxes Wisely: Taxes turn some of your region’s wealth into direct money for your treasury. It’s dependable, but overdoing it quickly lowers approval.
  • Upgrade Burgage Plots: Higher-level Burgages produce consistent monthly income from each family residing there. Larger plots accommodating multiple families increase your earnings even more.

How to Make Money Through Trading

Trading becomes your primary source of income once you establish the basics in your village. After setting up your Logging Camp, Woodcutter, Hunting Camp, Forager Hut, Storehouse, Granary, and some extra Burgage Plots, add a Trading Post and start exchanging goods. From that point on, anything you don’t need can be converted into cash.

  • Planks: They quickly accumulate once your sawpit is active. They aren’t very valuable individually, but as long as you have foresters, the supply keeps coming. Selling your surplus is an easy way to convert unused storage into steady Regional Wealth.
  • Rooftiles: If your clay deposit is solid, you’ll quickly drown in rooftiles. They sell for more than planks and generate a good income. Just be cautious. Clay is limited, and you’ll need rooftiles for level two churches and level three Burgages, so don’t sell everything at once.
  • Sheep Farms and Yarn: Sheep farming is one of the strongest long-term trades in the game. With the breeding perk, your flock grows automatically, allowing you to sell surplus sheep whenever you want. Add a weaving industry on top, and you can export yarn for even more profit. It sells well and is easy to produce.
  • Food: Food piles up quickly once your farms, hunters, and foragers start working. Any extra can be sold for a reasonable price. Make sure your people are fed, then convert the rest into cash.

How to Fill Your Treasury

Your Treasury is your personal wallet in Manor Lords. It’s completely separate from Regional Wealth and is required for major lordly actions, such as hiring mercenaries or establishing a new Settler’s Camp. Since Treasury funds don’t appear automatically, you need to convert some of your region’s wealth into cash.

The easiest method is through taxation. Once you build a Manor, open the taxes menu and set your land tax or trade tax. Each month, a portion of your Regional Wealth is transferred directly into your Treasury. Higher taxes lead to faster income, but they also decrease approval, so avoid pushing too hard unless you want angry villagers.

You can also increase your Treasury by clearing bandit camps. After eliminating a camp, you decide whether the loot boosts your Regional Wealth or goes directly into your Treasury. The payout varies, but you can usually expect at least a good amount of coins each time.

Manor Lords Money FAQ

The fastest ways to boost your town are by exporting surplus goods, upgrading Burgage Plots, and clearing bandit camps. These three methods reliably grow as your town expands.

Begin with planks, hides, berries, and any surplus food. Sell leather, dyes, and crafted goods as soon as possible, because end products generate more Regional Wealth.

You probably need more Granary and Storehouse workers. They are the ones who actually sell items at the market, so assign at least one or two workers to each.

Yes, but only after you secure a steady income. Trade routes are costly, so focus on building Regional Wealth first, then use it to sell high-volume goods like wool, yarn, or leather for substantial profits.
