Character Creation Tips
The Paramaker in Paralives is full of small customization details, so it’s worth taking your time before sending your Para into the world. Many options are tucked away in tiny menus, and missing them can mean settling for a look that is almost right instead of exactly what you wanted.

Before you finish your Para, check these things:
- Click through hairstyle variants if a style looks good, but the accessory doesn’t match your vibe.
- Look for alternate clothing versions, since some outfits have additional styles hidden within the same tile.
- Customize accessories carefully, especially piercings, jewelry, socks, and medical items.
- Choose left, right, or both sides for certain accessories rather than accepting the default placement.
- Open the extra name options if you want your Para to have a middle name or nickname.
Be extra sure about the face and body before confirming your character. Once your Para is created, regular mirrors only let you change clothes in Paralives.
Stats, Talents, and Traits
Stats
Stats are just as important as appearance in Paralives. Every Para starts with 1 point in each core Stat and receives 3 additional points to distribute. You can raise a Stat to a maximum of 3 or lower one to 0 to free up more points.

The four core Stats are:
- Physique improves physical tasks, endurance, fitness growth, and exercise efficiency.
- Mind helps with logic, learning speed, reasoning, and programming.
- Creativity supports painting, graphic design, music, and other artistic tasks.
- Charisma makes social interactions, relationship building, and conversation success easier.
For the best start in Paralives, build your Para around your playstyle. Choose Mind and Technology for a programming career, or focus on Creativity for a more artistic life. Pick a Talent that supports your favorite Skills, and use Personality Points to address weaknesses rather than making one area extremely strong. Traits like Neat or Night Owl can also make daily life smoother, depending on how you like to play.
Talents
Talents in Paralives are permanent strengths that boost certain Skills. You choose one Talent in the Paramaker, and you can’t change it later, so pick one that fits your planned lifestyle.
The official Talents are:
- Jack of All Trades gives balanced growth across all Skills.
- Music boosts Piano, Guitar, and Triangle.
- Fitness improves Exercise, Dance, and energy efficiency.
- Food boosts Cooking, meal quality, and reduces failure chances.
- Technology helps in Programming and Graphic Design.
- Art improves Painting and creative tasks.
- Good at Nothing slows Skill growth and is best for challenge runs.
Traits
Traits are different. They define your Para’s personality and behavior. You unlock or upgrade them with Personality Points, which you earn by leveling Skills, advancing Careers, and completing Goals.
Useful Traits include:
- Neat for tidy households.
- Night Owl for active evenings.
- Charismatic for easier friendships.
- Genius for Mind-based builds.
- Early Bird for better mornings.
- Sloppy for Paras who do not care about mess.
The best builds in Paralives combine all three systems. For example, Physique 3 plus Fitness Talent is great for an athletic Para, while Creativity 3 plus Art Talent works well if you want to earn money from painting.
Choose a Career and Level Up Skills
Once your Para has the right Stats, Talent, and Traits, you can start planning their daily life. In Paralives, careers and Skills are closely linked, so your Para will progress much faster if both align with your build.

There are 51 careers across 11 categories, including Software Development, Art, Service, Music, Education, Management, and Healthcare. Each career has its own working hours, salary, and performance goals.
Before choosing a job, keep a few things in mind:
- Pick a career that fits your Stats and Talent.
- Check the work schedule, especially if you want multiple jobs.
- Focus on the performance goals needed for promotion.
- You can hold more than one job, as long as the hours don’t overlap.
Skills in Paralives improve with practice. The more your Para uses a Skill, the better they become. Higher Skills improve task quality, unlock new options, and enhance career performance.
Some important Skill types are:
- Creative Skills like Painting, Graphic Design, Piano, and Guitar.
- Physical Skills like Fitness and Dance.
- Mental Skills like Programming, Logic, and Problem Solving.
- Practical Skills like Cooking and Gardening.
For a smooth start, connect everything. A Para with Mind and Technology should practice Programming and aim for Software Development. A creative Para should paint, design, or play music before jumping into an Art or Music career. This way, your household grows naturally instead of constantly fighting against weak Skills.
The Core System
After choosing a career and leveling the right Skills, your next priority is daily stability. In Paralives, everything revolves around Needs, Wants, and Emotions. These systems affect mood, behavior, relationships, and progression.

Your Para has four main Needs:
- Hunger
- Energy
- Bathroom
- Hygiene
Keep these filled first. A hungry, tired, or dirty Para will perform worse at work, learn Skills more slowly, and struggle socially.
For a smooth routine:
- Use the fridge for snacks or meals.
- Place enough beds for your household.
- Let tired Paras sleep or take a short nap.
- Build a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and bathtub.
Wants are short-term desires based on Needs, Traits, and surroundings. Completing them gives small rewards, improves mood, and can earn Personality Points.
Events, social interactions, and unmet Needs shape emotions in Paralives. Positive emotions help progression, while negative emotions slow your Para down. So, take care of Needs first, then focus on Wants and life goals.
Build a House
Once your Para is ready, it’s time to move into Melino, the open-world town in Paralives. You can choose a lot that suits your vision, whether you want a cozy cottage, a modern loft, a hillside home, or a quiet suburban home.

You can move into a pre-built home, but Build Mode is where the game truly shines. To start from scratch, buy an empty lot, then press B or TAB to enter Build Mode.
For your first home, keep it simple:
- Use the sledgehammer to remove rocks or other obstacles.
- Open the terrain tools to level the ground.
- Build the walls first. Walls need to be at the same height to connect.
- Add a door so the house is actually usable.
- Place stairs if you want a second floor.
- Use the floor controls in the top right to switch levels.
When you place walls, the floor is created automatically. After adding stairs, move to the next floor and build additional walls there if you want extra rooms.
Build Mode gives you a lot of freedom:
- You can build with or without the grid.
- Curved walls allow more organic shapes.
- Windows, doors, and furniture can be resized by dragging.
- Terrain can be raised, lowered, smoothed, or carved.
- Items can be placed freely without strict limits.
Do not build a mansion on day one. Focus on the basics first. Your Para needs a bed, a bathroom, a fridge, and enough room to move around. In the room section, furniture is organized by category, making it easier to furnish kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas without forgetting the essentials.
How to Make Money
After building your first home, you need cash for bills, furniture, and upgrades. In Paralives, the easiest way to earn money is to get a regular job. You can look for one on a computer, on your phone, or on posters around town.

Jobs have requirements, such as:
- Work experience
- Skill level
- Perk level
- Working hours
Stick to one career path if you want better roles and higher pay over time. You can also earn extra cash by selling paintings, baked goods, crafted items, or collectibles. Completing Wants and life goals can also reward you with bonus money.
If you’re really short on cash, enter Build Mode and sell furniture you don’t need using the sledgehammer. A small, affordable home is a much better start than an expensive build you can’t maintain.
