Starting out in theHunter Call of the Wild can feel tough. You buy your license, grab a basic rifle, and before you fire your first shot, your wallet is already empty. With the right strategies, though, you can earn cash quickly and unlock the gear you really want. Our theHunter money guide shows you how to make money fast in Call of the Wild and what influences your income in the game.

How Money Works in theHunter

The in-game currency is simply called money. You use it for:

  • New weapons
  • Better gear
  • Ammo
  • Tools like callers, tents, and scopes

You mostly earn cash by hunting. The accuracy of your shot is essential. A precise heart shot pays much more than a messy body shot on a small bird. Missions and challenges also provide a steady income and can sometimes unlock equipment.

If you want to make money quickly at the beginning, focus on Canadian geese.

With the Wild Goose Chase DLC, you get access to:

  • Decoys
  • Camouflage tents
  • Goose callers

Travel to Hirschfelden. Look for vast grasslands or open fields. Place your decoys in a clear area, set up your tent nearby, and use your caller to grab the flock’s attention. Shoot the males right before they land. It’s one of the fastest money farms in the early game.

How the Scoring System Affects Your Income

Your reward is based on two values:

  • Trophy score: weight, antlers, and species-specific traits
  • Shot score: where you hit the animal and how long it survived

The game encourages ethical hunting. Heart and lung shots produce great results. Headshots result in poor rewards. Gut shots are worse and cause long tracking runs.

A few things to remember:

  • Use the correct caliber for each animal
  • Hit vital organs
  • Avoid unnecessary suffering

Easy Money with Saltwater Crocodiles

One of the fastest money farms in theHunter Call of the Wild is hunting saltwater crocodiles on Emerald Coast. Each kill pays around 1,000 to 1,400 cash, and they respawn so quickly that you can run the same route nonstop.

Focus on the northeast beaches and the mangrove marshes near Tamba Coast and Saltfinger Shore. Run along the shoreline until you hear a hiss. That sound reveals the croc’s position. Slow down, approach carefully, and take a neck shot with the .300 AR rifle and Class 8 ammo.

Don’t worry about hunting pressure. Their need zones reset quickly, making the spot ideal for collecting money. For smoother routes, set up tents every 200 to 300 meters, especially on small peninsulas with wide views. If a croc runs into the water, listen for the looping snarl. You can often see it underwater and finish the kill.

The Best Animals for Making Money

Some animals are simply more profitable than others. Aside from the mentioned crocodiles, these species offer high payouts and dependable spawns.

  • Reindeer: Located in Hemmeldal. They move in groups and have a keen sense of smell. Approach them from upwind or hunt from a raised blind.
  • Water Buffalo: Found in Parque Fernando. Very territorial. They smell everything but have poor vision. Hunt males with weapon class 9.
  • Pronghorn: Common in Silver Ridge Peaks. Check the lakes between 8:00 and 10:30. They move in groups. Shoot the largest one first and follow the herd as they settle.
  • Turkeys: Whitehart Island and Settlers Creeks are filled with them. Find them drinking water between 3:00 and 4:30 in the afternoon. They respond well to decoys and calls.
  • Plains Bison: Herd animals in Yukon Valley. Hunt them before they head into the forest. Watch their behavior and time your approach.
  • Fallow Deer: Found inHirschfelden, Hirschdorf, and east of Königsberg am See.
Use a .243 for small onesand a.270 for larger ones. Stalk them or wait in a raised blind.
  • Red Deer: Shy but very profitable. Found in Hirschfelden. Sitting hunts and drive hunts both work well. Get within twenty yards at most before they detect you.
  • Mountain Lion: Use the wounded fawn caller. Hunt early morning or at dusk. Pumas roam alone and are found in Parque Fernando. Weapon class 3 works best.
  • Gray Wolf and Iberian Wolf: Found in Yukon Valley and Cuatro Colinas. These pack animals pay well. They respond to predator callers. Use weapon class 3 for gray wolves and weapon class 6 for Iberian wolves.
