Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core Classes/Reclaimers Guide

Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core transforms the familiar dwarf chaos into a roguelite recovery mission. In this Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core Classes Guide, we explain what Reclaimers are, how each class plays, and which one suits your preferred style, whether you want to protect the squad, mark targets, control drones, or dive straight into melee combat.

What Are Reclaimers?

In Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core, Reclaimers are the new playable classes sent to Hoxxes IV to deal with the Core problem. They’re elite dwarven specialists built for dangerous recovery missions beyond the Greyout Barrier.

Your goal is to fight through randomly generated stages, collect gear and Expenite, and reclaim the dig site before everything falls apart. Each Reclaimer has a clear role, but you’re not locked into one playstyle forever.

For beginners, Reclaimers are best understood through three parts:

  • Base Class Identity: What your Reclaimer naturally does best
  • Starting Gear: Your Phase Suit, Active Ability, and first weapon
  • Run Upgrades: Temporary upgrades from caches, weapons, and Expenite

You start with a specific setup, but each run can change how your class plays. A defensive Reclaimer can become more aggressive, a damage-focused build can gain more utility, and your upgrades can turn a simple mission into something entirely different.

Guardian

The Guardian is your squad’s defensive anchor and one of the best Reclaimers for learning Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core. If you want a class that helps you survive tough fights, protect your team, and control enemy pressure, this is the safest place to start.

Your main job is space control. The Guardian keeps enemies away from the squad, interrupts dangerous pushes, and gives everyone room to breathe when the mission gets messy.

The class is built around the Seismic Gloves, which have two charges and can be used in two ways:

  • Repulsion Field: Creates a defensive field for 4 seconds
  • Concussive Barrage: Fires 12 munitions and stuns enemies for 6 seconds

This makes the Guardian especially useful in Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core when you know which enemies need to be stunned and which should be burst down quickly. The Guardian also provides strong team support with the Armor Beacon. It lasts 15 seconds and lets nearby players recover half of their maximum armor, which is huge in longer fights.

You can play the Guardian as a pure tank, but the class can also shift to a more aggressive hybrid during a run. Its Protection and Devastation decks support both styles, so you can either focus on survival or build toward stronger stun chains and damage.

Spotter

The Spotter is your crit setup specialist in Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core. This Reclaimer specializes in marking priority targets, opening short damage windows, and helping the whole squad focus on the enemies that need to be eliminated first.

The main tool here is Crit Dart. It has 3 charges, each with an 18-second cooldown. When you hit an enemy directly, the mark lasts 5 seconds and grants +100% Crit Chance. This makes Spotter especially strong in co-op, where your teammates can instantly take advantage of the marked target. Against larger enemies, this works extremely well with damage-focused Reclaimers like the Slicer.

Spotter is best at:

  • Marking dangerous targets before they overwhelm the team
  • Boosting crit damage windows for the whole squad
  • Helping everyone focus fire instead of wasting damage on random enemies

You can also shoot Crit Darts at the ground. This creates a field that lasts 10 seconds, and enemies who walk through it become marked as well. It’s a great way to prepare a choke point or control a messy fight.

In Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core‘s solo mode, Spotter is still useful, but the payoff comes more slowly. Early on, you mostly support your own damage with marks. Later in a run, with the right Mobility or Big Crits upgrades, Spotter can become a surprisingly strong damage dealer.

Falconer

The Falconer is the drone specialist in Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core. This Reclaimer is a great pick if you like helping your team from a safer position, controlling space with gadgets, and dealing electric damage without always standing right in the danger zone.

Your main tool is the Shock Drone. It has 5 charges, and each charge replenishes after 10 seconds. The drone fires several salvos, deals direct and area damage, and applies electrocution on hit.

Falconer is best at:

  • Supporting the team from range while staying mobile
  • Applying electric status effects to start damage chains
  • Scouting and controlling areas before the squad pushes forward
  • Reviving teammates remotely when a normal revive would be too risky

The Falconer is especially strong in co-op because you don’t need perfect aim to be useful. Your drone can pressure enemies, reveal what’s ahead, and help teammates survive tough situations.

Compared to a pure damage class, Falconer may feel slower at first. But once you build into Mixed Tactics or Storm, the class becomes a strong utility pick, offering solid damage, great status effects, and one of the safest support playstyles in the game.

Slicer

The Slicer is the aggressive melee fighter in Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core. This Reclaimer is all about rushing into close range, eliminating enemies quickly, and getting back out before the bugs punish you for being too confident.

A muscular man in futuristic armor holds a glowing green rifle in front of a large stone robotic head with yellow eyes.

Your main ability is Plasma Blade, which has a 20-second cooldown. It deals 560 melee damage with a horizontal slash, making it one of the strongest single-hit abilities in the current class set.

Slicer is best at:

  • Bursting down single targets before they become a problem
  • Cutting through smaller enemy groups with fast melee pressure
  • Using mobility windows to enter and escape fights
  • Combining with crit setups from classes like Spotter

You also have tools that help you survive the risky playstyle. Blitz lets you dash forward, useful for repositioning or escaping unfavorable fights. Shield Belt can protect you and nearby allies from ranged attacks.

Slicer is probably one of the better solo picks in Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core because the damage is immediate and easy to understand. You do not need perfect team coordination to make it work. Still, this class is risky. With Footwork or Carnage upgrades, it can become a monster, but you should only play it once you feel comfortable with the basics.

Retcon

The Retcon is the strangest Reclaimer in Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core, but also one of the most interesting. This class is built around risky plays, damage windows, and undoing mistakes before they ruin the run.

Her main ability is Rewind Time. When activated, it lasts 20 seconds and lets you return to your earlier position, ammo, health, and armor state. That means you can push forward, spend resources, take damage, and then reset everything if the fight goes badly.

Retcon is best at:

  • Taking risky fights without fully committing to the outcome
  • Resetting bad situations before they wipe the team
  • Creating short damage windows with Rage
  • Using ranged or grenade-focused upgrades for stronger burst potential

The catch is the 75-second cooldown. You can’t spam Rewind Time, so timing is crucial. Activate it too late, and you lose value. Activate it too early, and you may waste your best safety tool. Retcon also has Rage, which charges when you take damage. Once full, it grants +100% damage for 20 seconds. Combined with Rewind Time, this can turn Retcon into a powerful DPS burst.

She’s not the best beginner class. But if you like planning ahead, taking controlled risks, and using Recklessness or Prowess upgrades, Retcon can feel incredibly rewarding.
