How and Where to Get StarRupture Meteorite Heart
Getting a Meteorite Heart in StarRupture is pretty straightforward once you know what to look for. You don’t need special tools or late-game upgrades. You just need good eyes and a bit of patience.
Spotting Meteorites on Arcadia-7
Meteorites don’t have fixed spawn points, but they’re easy to recognize.
- Look for white smoke rising from a large rock in the distance
- Most meteorites spawn in flat, open areas
- You can also find some on mountains and higher ground
- After every wave, meteorites reset and usually reappear in the same spots
How to Break a Meteorite
When you reach a meteorite, you have two solid options. Both lead to a Meteorite Heart.

- Shoot the glowing ore spots: These weak points break faster and yield different resources. Once all glowing spots are destroyed, the meteorite collapses and drops a Meteorite Heart.
- Focus on one spot and brute-force it: This takes longer, but the meteorite breaks in one go. You still get the Meteorite Heart plus all stored ores.
Possible extra resources include:
- Wolfram Ore
- Calcium Ore
- Titanium Ore
- Helium-3
Use Mining Stacks to Speed Things Up
Breaking ore veins inside the meteorite gives your mining tool temporary stacks.
- Each stack boosts mining efficiency
- Stacks slowly disappear if you stop mining
- Keep shooting without long pauses to stay efficient
This makes farming much faster once you get into the rhythm.
What to Use It For
The Meteorite Heart is not just another crafting item. It’s directly tied to how and where you build, and to your safety during waves. There are two main uses, both of which revolve around your Base Core. Additionally, each Meteorite Heart can be analyzed at the Analyzing Station for 30 Data Points.
Placing a Base Core
You need one Meteorite Heart to place a Base Core. Without it, you can’t build much of anything.
- The Base Core unlocks all nearby building options
- You can place it in many locations, but not too close to landmarks
- This includes Abandoned Bases, monoliths, and underground cave entrances
- Rails are the only structure that doesn’t need a Base Core
Upgrading Your Base Core
Meteorite Hearts are also required to upgrade existing Base Cores.

- Each upgrade needs multiple Meteorite Hearts
- Upgrading the Base Core to level 2 alone takes around 30 Meteorite Hearts
- You also need large amounts of other materials
- During the upgrade, you trigger a huge alien attack
- Make sure your defenses are ready before you start
Starting an upgrade unprepared can wipe your base very quickly.
Why You Should Always Carry One
The world of StarRupture is massive, and waves don’t care where you are.
- Getting caught far from a base during a wave is dangerous
- A quick Base Core lets you set up shelter and defenses
- Always carry at least one Meteorite Heart
- Combine it with around 1,000 Basic Building Materials
This simple habit can save your run when things go bad fast.
