Data Points are one of the most important progression resources in StarRupture. You use them to unlock new recipes, upgrade buildings, and advance corporation contracts. This StarRupture Data Points Guide shows you how to farm large amounts without wasting valuable resources. We’ll tell you where to look, when to move, when rare resources spawn, and which items are worth analyzing.

Farm Ignitium Right After a Rupture
The Rupture is a planet-wide annihilation event that completely resets the map. It alters the environment, spawns rare resources, and punishes the unprepared. At the same time, it’s the best opportunity to farm Data Points quickly.
Right after a Rupture wave, minerals and meteorites crash onto the surface. Among them is Ignitium, one of the most valuable resources for analysis.

You can spot Ignitium by watching for two clear signs:
- An orange glow on the horizon
- Smoke rising from the ground
A bundle of five Ignitium grants 2,000 Data Points upon analysis. This makes it one of the strongest early- and mid-game farming options. However, Ignitium does not last long. It disintegrates shortly after the Rupture, so you need to move quickly, collect as much as possible, and return to your base immediately.
Kill Vermin for Steady Data Points
If the Rupture is inactive, exploration is your next best option. While exploring the planet, you’ll often encounter Vermin, spider-like enemies that infest many areas.

Some Vermin drop biological sacs upon defeat. These items have no crafting use and exist solely for analysis. Once collected, return them to your Analysis Station to gain extra Data Points.
This method is slower than Rupture farming, but it’s:
- Safe and repeatable
- Available at any time
- Perfect while exploring or traveling
Search for Old Technology and Artifacts
The most lucrative Data Point sources come from Broken Pieces of Technology. These rare items are found in dangerous or abandoned locations across the planet.
You can obtain them by:
- Looting Fallen Drones
- Searching Former Colonist bodies
- Exploring abandoned ClayWood Corporation ruins
Each piece yields between 400 and 2,000 Data Points, depending on its quality. While extremely valuable, these items are limited and do not respawn. Save them for moments when you need a large Data Point boost rather than using them right away.
Explore Underground Caves After a Rupture
Right after a Rupture wave is the best time to explore underground caves. These areas open briefly and contain some of the game’s highest-value renewable resources.

Inside caves, you can find Glowcap, which grants 90 Data Points per piece when analyzed. This makes it even more efficient than Ignitium when clearing multiple caves in a single run.
When farming after a wave, use this route:
- Wait until the Rupture ends, and it’s safe to leave your base
- Head straight toward the nearest underground cave
- Collect any Ignitium you find on the way
- Ignore meteorites for now and focus on Glowcap
- Move quickly between caves before they collapse
With good routing, you can clear at least two caves per wave and earn 5,000 or more Data Points in a single run.
Resources You Should Avoid Analyzing
Not every item is worth turning into Data Points. Some resources are far more valuable when used for crafting and progression.
Avoid analyzing:
- Plant samples needed for recipes
- Meteorite cores
- Rare crafting materials
The Data Point rewards are small compared to the long-term value of these items.
StarRupture Data Points: What Do You Need Them For?
Data Points aren’t just a progression currency. They determine how quickly you unlock content and how smoothly your survival loop runs. If you spend them in the right order, you avoid bottlenecks and wasted resources later on. You can spend Data Points in two main places.
Unlock Recipes at the Recipe Station
The Recipe Station should always be your top priority. Here, you unlock new crafting options, including equipment, tools, and consumables.

Recipes unlocked here allow you to:
- Craft new items and building upgrades
- Unlock food and drinks to restore Calories, Hydration, and Health
- Prepare recipes ahead of future progression steps
It can be tempting to rush corporation contracts, but spending Data Points on recipes first is the smarter move.
Progress Corporations at the Corporate Terminal
The second place to spend Data Points is the Corporate Terminal. Here, Data Points help you complete contracts and level up with each corporation faster.

At early levels, the required amounts are manageable. As you progress, corporations start demanding tens or even hundreds of thousands of Data Points per level. At that point, natural progression becomes very slow.
You can speed this up by:
- Producing the items requested by the corporation
- Adding extra Data Points to push the contract forward
This approach lets you unlock corporation rewards earlier without waiting for passive progression.
Farm Data Points More Efficiently with PLITCH!
Farming Data Points can take a lot of time, especially when corporations demand huge amounts. With PLITCH’s StarRupture cheats, you can reduce the grind and focus on unlocking content instead of repeating the same routes.
The most useful option for this is Set Data Points, which lets you directly adjust your current amount. This is perfect for unlocking recipes at the Recipe Station or for pushing through expensive corporation levels without hours of farming.
To speed up the process even more, Fast Resource Mining helps you gather analysis materials faster after a Rupture, while No Fall Damage lets you move through caves and rough terrain without slowing down. Together, these codes make Data Point progression smoother, faster, and far less frustrating.
